Dinghy success in Bay of Colwyn
The plan to restart Dinghy Racing in the Bay of Colwyn was viewed by many Club members with some scepticism. It is very pleasing to report that four members have bought Dinghies and are racing, with two more planning to join the fleet imminently.
Last Thursday's racing saw near perfect conditions, warm sunny weather with a 10 mph northerly wind . Former regular with the Club, John Brown, won both races convincingly in his vintage laser. In the first race he was followed by Carl Gardiner, single handed in his Wayfarer, and Commodore Mike Lehane with his son Alex helming an Adventurer. In the second race Mike took advantage of some large wind shifts coming in second ahead of Carl. Fourteen boats from Rydal- Penrhos joined the Club boats making a spectacle not seen for many years in the Bay of Colwyn.
